What Is a Good Reflex Game Score?

Your score includes finding, moving to and clicking each target, so it is slower than a simple reaction test.

These ratings are a rough VoltReflex guide for Normal size targets, not a scientific standard. Smaller targets, a trackpad or a touchscreen will usually give slower times.

Reflex Game vs Reaction Time Test

Two tools, two different skills.

Raw speed

The reaction time test measures how fast you click when the screen changes colour, with your hand already in place. Most adults score around 200 to 300 ms.

Speed plus aim

The reflex game adds aiming. Psychologist Paul Fitts showed in 1954 that aimed movements take longer as targets get smaller or farther away. That is why Tiny targets feel so much harder.

Your setup

A wired mouse and a high refresh rate screen can cut delay. See mouse input lag and monitor refresh rate.

Train smarter

Accuracy first, then speed. Short sessions a few times a week work best. Try our reaction time training drills and gamer tips.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about the reflex game.

Is this reflex game free?

Yes. The VoltReflex reflex game is free, runs in your browser and needs no download or sign-up. Your personal best and last five runs are saved only in your own browser, so clearing your browser data will reset them.

What does the reflex game measure?

It measures how long it takes you to spot a target, move to it and click it, averaged across every target. It also tracks your fastest hit and your accuracy, so you can see if you are trading precision for speed.

Is this the same as an aim trainer?

It works like a simple aim trainer. Targets appear at random positions and you hit them as fast as possible. Smaller target sizes make it harder and closer to aiming in fast shooter games.

Why is my score slower on a phone or trackpad?

Touchscreens and trackpads usually add some delay and are harder to aim with than a mouse. Screen refresh rate and browser load can also add a few milliseconds. Compare scores on the same device and settings for a fair result.

How can I get a better reflex game score?

Focus on clean hits first, then speed up. Use a wired mouse if you can, warm up for a few minutes and play short sessions a few times a week. Good sleep and fewer distractions also help.
